The practice was established in 1984 by six chartered accountants to handle the affairs of a small group of international clients ranging from quoted companies to proprietor controlled family businesses. The common feature of these original clients and those which have subsequently engaged Lawfords Consulting is their desire to have an all embracing, efficient service which involves proactive advice and bespoke solutions to their business, tax and accounting problems.
The firm does not specialise in any business sectors although it has built up particular expertise in certain areas such as intellectual property,property dealing and development, retail, professional service businesses and the taxation position of non UK domiciled individuals.
In conjunction with its overseas associates principally in Cyprus, New Zealand and the Isle of Man the firm advises on the implementation and management of structures to take advantage of double tax treaty provisions and other cross border trading opportunities as well as wealth protection. For its high net worth clients the firm provides dedicated family office solutions to cater for multi jurisdictional issues and the need for long term arrangements which are flexible but tailored to the circumstances and requirements of the family concerned.
New clients are typically recommended to Lawfords Consulting by its existing clients or other professional advisers such as accountants, lawyers, bankers and financial advisers. The firm does not advertise and maintains a confidential and discrete service to all its clients.
